Founded by Jason Pergament in 2013, the Student Success Program is designed to help Success Scholars grow into successful young adults through targeted supports and opportunities during their high school experience. Scholars are guided onto the path of success by researching their future vision and being supported in taking actionable steps in that direction; developing healthy and positive relationships with teacher and peers; learning the importance of advocacy and independence and so much more. The program is made up of several components. For incoming 9th graders there is a 3-week summer camp and a Prep for Success class, (Grade 9). There is also an Introduction to College and Careers course co-taught with a CCV Professor for the 10 and 11th graders and an Applying to College Senior Workshop class for first-gen college bound students. Two big supporters of the Student Success Program are the Stratton Foundation and Burr and Burton itself. They help make mentorships, Brown Grants, academic interventions and the end of the year trips attainable for the scholars, so everyone has the opportunity to be successful and to participate.
